Ecovert FM reaches Financial Close on Tower Hamlets BSF

Ecovert FM, as part of the Bouygues Partnership for Education and Communities (BPEC), has reached financial close on the £300 million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme with Tower Hamlets Council.

In partnership with Ecovert FM, BPEC comprises its sister company Bouygues UK, responsible for design and construction and ICT solutions specialist Ramesys. Together BPEC will transform 18 schools in the borough into top quality learning centres for students, teachers and the local community over a period of 10 years.

The first schools to benefit from the programme will be St Paul’s Way Community School and Bethnal Green Technology College. St Paul’s Way will be completely rebuilt whilst Bethnal Green Technology College will be part rebuilt and part refurbished. The remaining schools will be delivered in the second “wave” of the programme.

Ecovert FM will deliver Facilities Management services to the schools on their completion in autumn 2010. These services will include management and helpdesk services, building and asset maintenance, grounds, security, energy and utilities management, health and safety management and cleaning to both schools, as well as caretaking at St Paul’s Way.

Students and local residents alike will benefit from the new facilities, which will include a library, state-of-the-art sports and ICT facilities and a 250-seat theatre.

Cllr Clair Hawkins, Lead Member for Children’s Services at Tower Hamlets Council said:

“We are delighted that we have reached this significant stage of our Building Schools for the Future programme.

“BSF is going to completely transform education in Tower Hamlets and our residents can look forward to seeing some fantastic new facilities in the very near future.

“The new facilities will make learning a more enjoyable experience for students and we are confident they will also have a positive impact on performance.”

Bruno Bodin, CEO of Ecovert FM, says, “We are delighted to have closed this BSF programme, the second in our portfolio. The impact that this will have on the community is exceptional and we are proud to be a part of it.”
