One Day to Change: Company-wide Health and Safety Day

Ecovert Group recently held a Health and Safety awareness day, One Day to Change, an initiative as part of parent company ETDE’s 2009 Health and Safety Year.

It is Ecovert Group’s continued belief that Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental management are of paramount importance to achieve its business objectives and to help its customers achieve theirs. As such, the company has been putting Health & Safety as the first item on the agenda of every meeting, including with partners and clients, since the beginning of the year.

One Day to Change is part of ETDE’s 2009 Health and Safety Year campaign which aims to reduce work and road-related accidents by 50%. ETDE’s other subsidiaries in the UK as well as those in France, Switzerland and Italy took part in the day which focused on an in-depth analysis of health and safety risks and underlying behaviours.

Ecovert Group’s Directors and QSE teams were present on 20 March across a number of its principal sites in London, the midlands and the south east. Items on the agenda included films, presentations, health and safety quizzes and road safety workshops, which aimed to raise staff awareness and come up with new, specific measures to cut down on work-related sickness, accidents and road accidents.

ETDE’s CEO, Gaetan Desruelles said, “this event should prompt a lasting change in individual and collective mindsets. I expect to see a “before” and “after” 20 March at ETDE on matters of health and safety.”

Ecovert Group’s CEO, Bruno Bodin, said “One Day to Change was a great awareness medium to ensure staff know how seriously we take this issue. Beyond our ongoing OHSAS 18000-certified approach and our company Health and Safety record that comes in below the RoSPA average, this Day emphasises our true commitment to safe environments for all.”
